WRITING

My essay on Fast Trip, Long Drop has come out in Little Joe 3, see Writing page.

I wrote the essay for artist Christine Negus's solo exhibition you can't spell slaughter without laughter at Gallery TPW, Toronto, 19 January - 18 February 2012, see Writing page.

My essay "The Gossip and Ghosts of Colin Campbell" will be reprinted in Blast Counterblast (Mercer Union / WhiteWalls Inc, 2011), edited by Steve Reinke and Anthony Elms.

"Glittering Logic in a Minor Key," a review of Dominic Johnson's book Glorious Catastrophe: Jack Smith, Performance and Visual Culture will appear in an upcoming special issue of Criticism: A Quarterly for Literature and the Arts on Jack Smith, edited by Marc Siegel.

"The Masculine Mystique," a review of AA Bronson and Peter Hobbs's book Queer Spirits will appear in the next issue of Fillip.

I am working on texts on the Projet MOBILIVRE – BOOKMOBILE Project, artist Oliver Husain and Andy Warhol's 1964 film Empire and 1965 film Horse. I am also writing for the tentatively-titled Explosion in the Movie Machine: Histories of Toronto Moving Image Culture to be co-published by the Images Festival and Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto and distributed by YYZ Books.

My book on Paul Morrissey’s film Trash was published in November 2009 by Arsenal Pulp Press (Vancouver) and is available online / in stores. Here are reviews from Quill & Quire, Cineaste online and C Magazine.

A Ryeberg Live presentation on The Gays of Tomorrow by my boyfriend Sholem Krishtalka and I ended up on artist Christian Holstad's Top Ten in the November 2010 issue of Artforum.
